Blush Summit Through the Clouds

£800.00

Original oil painting on canvas
76 × 102 cm | 30 × 40 in
Unframed

Blush Summit Through the Clouds is an original abstract mountain painting inspired by hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc through the Alps.

For much of the trek, the mountains were hidden behind layers of cloud. Every so often, the clouds would shift and a distant peak would suddenly appear - making those brief glimpses of the mountains feel even more dramatic and special.

This painting captures that moment of revelation. Soft blush pinks and atmospheric layers of mist surround the mountain peaks as they emerge through the clouds, conveying the changing light, atmosphere and sense of awe I experienced in the Alps.

Rather than depicting the landscape literally, I wanted to capture how it felt to be there - waiting for the clouds to part and the mountains to reveal themselves.

Painted in oils with expressive layers and softened detail, the piece sits between abstraction and landscape painting, creating a calm yet dramatic contemporary mountain artwork.
