Above the Clouds is an original contemporary mountain painting capturing snow-covered peaks emerging through layers of soft, atmospheric mist. Suspended between sky and earth, the distant mountains appear to float above a vast expanse of blue, evoking the stillness and sense of freedom found at high altitude.
A warm, glowing sky contrasts with the cooler blues of the landscape below, while subtle pink light catches the mountain peaks. Inspired by those fleeting moments around sunrise and sunset, the changing colour brings warmth and atmosphere to the composition.
Blending expressive brushwork with abstract realism, Above the Clouds focuses on mood and feeling rather than fine detail. The minimal composition and expansive sky create a sense of space, calm and elevation.
More than a depiction of a mountain landscape, this painting is about the feeling of being above the clouds - surrounded by vastness, stillness and open sky.
Serene yet striking, Above the Clouds brings the feeling of the mountains into your home. Its soft blue, pink and warm neutral palette makes it a beautiful statement piece for modern, minimalist and contemporary interiors.
